Come delight in the beauty of our forest and park in its winter finery! The Parish Public Library invites everyone to Merrill Park to enjoy an exploration on snowshoes! Everyone from age 3 to 103 can easily learn to snowshoe. There will be a short lesson before we head out to wander through the park.
This event will be held at Merrill Park on Saturday, February 18 at 10:30 a.m. Dress for an outdoor winter adventure. Winter boots are recommended. We will have some snowshoes available for use, however if you have snowshoes, please bring them. Merrill Park is located at 664 County Route 38 (Rider Street) in Parish.
The walk will be led by Pat Carney, naturalist and interpreter with the Amboy Environmental Center. This event, sponsored by the Parish Public Library, is free and open to people of all ages. Don’t let the days of winter force you to stay inside. Come out to Merrill Park and have a fun time snowshoeing! No experience neccesary! After the snowshoe trek come to the Parish Library for hot chocolate!
