Child and Elder Abuse--What is it? How do I recognize it? What can I do about it? What does the system do about it? These are just a few of the questions that you may be asking yourself after recent events in our community. Mary Brunet, MSW local child and family therapist will answer these questions during her presentation on abuse and neglect on October 18th at 6pm at the Parish Public Library.
Mary will cover the legal definitions of abuse and neglect, the physical and behavioral signs and symptoms that may indicate abuse or neglect, how to make a report of child or elder abuse and neglect, and how Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services respond to these reports.
This program is free and open to the public. For questions call the Library at 315 625-7130.
