The summer reading program was wildly successful! The events on Wednesdays were very popular and each event was different. Thompson Zoo wrapped up the summer reading program, bringing with them some zoo residents, an owl, a ferrett, a turtle and a large salamander. Participants were given the opportunity to see and touch the critters!.

The participants of the summer reading program continue to enjoy the events at the Parish Public Library. Linda from the Oswego County 4-H read the book "Olivia's Birds: Saving the Gulf." Everyone had the chance to clean up their own oil spill. The 4-H will continue for 3 more sessions, followed by Sue Fox, local EMT with the Parish Fire Department,  talking about "Woods Smart." The finale will be the Thompson Park Zoo on August 26th. There will be animals from the Zoo at this presentation.

Every Hero Has a Story! Let’s read them!

Parish Public Library is pleased to announce an exciting, expanded Summer Reading Program. All children (preschool through high school) are invited to participate. They can earn tickets for tracking their reading this summer (6/15-9/2), and can enter drawings for terrific prizes, including a Kindle!

The library will also host a special program each Wednesday throughout the summer. We will welcome the Watertown Science Museum on Wednesday, July 8th to kick off our summer, and will close out the celebration of learning with the Thompson Park Zoo coming on Wednesday, August 26th.  Participating students earn additional prize tickets for attending programs.
